Donations

An annual donation of $500 has been made by the DPA to the DuPage Children's Center.

Donations totaling $805 in cash were made by members in attendance to fund toys for the DPA Christmas Hospital Run to be held December 21, 2001. More information.

Valor Award and Certificate of Recognition Presentations
DCSO Certificate of Recognition recipients
Certificates of Recognition were awarded to seven members of the DuPage County Sheriff's Police (above) for their lifesaving actions during a October 24, 2001 fire in unincorporated Lombard. The following officers were recognized: Deputy Robert Amundsen, Deputy Mark DePino, Deputy Sean McGreevy, Deputy Jeffery Schumann, Deputy Kyle Southern, Corporal Christopher Thone, and Deputy Thomas Weiser. A Certificate of Recognition was also awarded to Sergeant Marc DeLise of the Oakbrook Police Department (no photo available) for his actions on November 14, 2000 while handling a call involving an armed, mentally unstable suspect.

The winner of the 2001 DuPage County Police Association Valor Award is Officer Marc Bregman of the Villa Park Police Department (above) for his off-duty actions on September 11, 2001 of rescuing and saving the life of a driver whose car had become submerged in a ditch following a motor vehicle accident. Description of incident.
